Description:
Erect perennial herbs or subshrubs. Stipules and stipels persistent, acuminate. Leaves pinnate, with (1-)3-9 leaflets; leaflets relatively large. Inflorescences of terminal bracteate, spike-like racemes. Calyx 5-lobed; the three lower lobes equal and longer than the upper. Corolla yellowish or purplish. Pod folded like an accordion, hardly exceeding the persistent calyx, constricted between the seeds, the segments inflated.
